I personally have used many of Tusk’s affordable dirt bike accessories and the are good.
Dirt bike Hybrid tires are tires that have more of a motocross tread but a more gummy or softer compound for the knobbies.
So, the knobbies compound are closer related to a trials tire.
However, if you have ever used a trails tire on full sized dirt bike….you realize that the trials tire suffers the faster you go and struggles with braking.

I have been riding on the Tusk Recon Hybrid tire and so far its been pretty good.
I would say that the tire is more on the stiff side when compared to softer gummy tires. The longer I ride on the tire the better the grip gets.
But, I do feel like there was a break in period.
The Tusk Recon Hybrid tire is wearing very well. I would compare this tire more to the IRC VE33s when it comes to compound and wear.
It doesn’t feel like it has as much grip as the Dunlop AT81EX or even the Kenda Ibex.
For those guys that want a hybrid tire that has good grip but wants the tire to last longer….I think the Tusk Recon tire is just that.
The Tusk Recon Tire will wear well, provide good grip, and won’t break the bank.
For those who want the BEST traction…..Maybe the Dunlop AT81EX is a better choice.
How does the Tusk Recon Hybrid Tire Perform?
I just returned from a 4 day riding trip in the mountains of Idaho.
I mounted this Tusk Recon Hybrid tire on a 2019 KTM 300 XCW TPI for the trip.
This trip we rode over 205 miles of hard technical single track, river crossings, log crossings, fast flowy trails, and just about everything in between.

How long does the Tusk Recon Hybrid last?
Well so far it took 205 miles of techincal single track to the face and still looks pretty good.
I will continue to post updates as I get more and more time on the tire.
