Camping with a Generator
Have you ever wondered how camping with a generator would impact the experience?
I know I have.
Would a generator help or ruin the camping experience?
Camping with a Generator really depends on what you need a generator for.
If you are just wanting to get outside, pitch a tent, and eat over the campfire then a camping generator probably will be overkill.
You also don’t want to haul a 50-70 lb camping generator that far from your car or truck…...
However.
I want to give your some cool ideas that would require a generator for camping.
For example
Camping Generator to power lights
For my daughters birthday she wanted to have a fairy light party in the woods….
Easy right?
Well. I needed a generator for all those “fairy lights“
So, I used 3 camping generators that are for my camper trailer.
This resulted in a magical night for my daughter and her friends (I am scared for what she ask for next bday).
CAMPING WITH A GENERATOR IDEAS
Camp Lights
Watch a movie outside in the woods (scary one?)
Power a drink mixer / mini bar
outdoor party
Power a electric heater
outdoor dance party
Foodie party
We have also use a camping generator to power a TV/VCR combo (I know) WAY out in the woods. We ran a 100ft of power cords from the generator to our camping spot.
We watched a scary movie and right in the middle of the movie the generator shut off…..this really added to the scary factor.
Turns out we forgot to fill it up with gas.
Nobody got very much sleep that camp trip.
This works well but you need to make sure you get a quiet camping generator.

The above mentioned generators are super quiet and reliable. They are the generators that I would recommend getting.
Plus your camping generator can double as a backup power source incase of an emergency.
Make sure that your generator is lightweight so hauling it around isn’t a big deal. That way any adult can move the generator if needed.
My Favorite Camping Generator is the Honda 2200i or the Ryobi 2300. I like the Ryobi a little better because you can use the app to turn the generator off when its time to go to sleep.
